Ed/Tech must-reads 180225

Yes, and..

Hello must-readers, I’m a little caught up currently in the final(ish) throes of the thesis, so I haven’t been keeping up to speed with all things Ed/Tech but I assure you that I will be back on deck next week (or the week after at the very latest).

I can recommend one thing for Melbourne (Australia) based colleagues. I’ve been to these events before and it is a hoot.

The Peer Revue featuring Prof Jason Lodge
Where: Motley Bauhaus, 118 Elgin Street, Carlton
Date: Friday 21 February,
Time: 7pm

AI has landed in universities—ready or not. But is it revolutionizing education, or just the latest overhyped panic?

The Peer Revue is a monthly comedy show where researchers share their work with improvisers… who then turn it into laughter.

For their February show, they are joined by Professor Jason Lodge - 2024 ASCILITE keynote, former AJET editor, and lead author of the influential Assessment reform for the age of artificial intelligence document that TEQSA published. A chef by trade, a psychological scientist by training, and an educator by profession, Jason is a Professor of Educational Psychology at UQ.

Expect deep insights, big laughs, and maybe a few unsettling truths about the future of education.
