Feedback literacy and ALL of the webinars.

back of man's head, golden webs and other people in the front

Among all the chatter about GenAI this and the Metaverse that (ok, nobody is talking about the Metaverse but you know what I mean), we sometimes let the pedagogical things slide. Fortunately, we have the good folks at Deakin CRADLE to keep us on track. This post offers some practical suggestions for interventions for building feedback literacy in students that have emerged from their ARC Discovery project.

Big education technology initiatives like changing an LMS are often used by leaders in tertiary education to jumpstart cultural changes in teaching practice. Beneath the surface, third space practitioners work frantically over months or years to try to achieve these aims. This webinar - this Thursday - features three perspectives on these kinds of initiatives from Michael Sankey (CDU), Kate Mitchell (UniMelb) and Antony Tibbs (ECU).

This webinar may be a little niche but if you are a developer of plugins for Moodle - or at least know your way around Moodle code - this looks like a good one.

The Bachelor of Learning Design and Technology Webinar Tuesday 24th September 6:30pm AEST from Monash Education

Pretty well all qualifications for learning designers and technologists are at a post-grad level in Australia, so when my former colleague Michael Henderson told me that he was working on an undergrad qual, my ears pricked up. This is mainly aimed at prospective students but for anyone in the sector with an interest in third space practitioners, I think it should be interesting to see how they plan to introduce people without prior experience to the profession.

Speaking of the third space, if you do have an interest in the ways that learning designers, educational technologists, academic developers, study skills teachers, librarians and the array of other workers live laugh and love here, there is still time to put in a proposal for the third space symposium later this year. Or, you can read our latest newsletter update and check out descriptions of a dozen of the already approved sessions for the online Slowposium (15 Nov - 30 Nov)
