Tickets (free) are flying out the door for this one - and with good reason. I’m just going to draw directly from the source.

Platforms like Cogniti and ChatGPT offer an exciting new way to design interactive and personalised learning experiences using plain language text instructions – or ‘prompts’. It’s still early days, so what do we know so far about how best to design and deploy these learning experiences?

Join us for the August TELedvisors webinar, which will showcase four different pioneering examples of generative AI-powered learning experiences in Cogniti, ChatGPT and MS Copilot. Joanne Hinitt (USyd), Matthew Clemson (USyd), Michael McAuley (ECU), and Antony Tibbs (ECU) will share tips and tricks for writing effective prompts and using them with learners. The webinar will provide examples, practical tips and advice to help you design your own engaging learning experiences using generative AI prompts.

The contextual nature of university-wide curriculum change from International Journal for Academic Development

Universities are fiendish complex institutions, with their overarching aims of teaching and research buffeted by a thousand other factors from the practical to the absurd. Anakin, Spronken-Smith, Healey and Vajoczki dive into all of the things shaping large change initiatives (including ownership, resources, identity, leadership, students, and quality assurance) in this comprehensive examination. It highlights potential inhibitors and enablers of change (spoiler alert - it’s largely human factors).

I may have mentioned the symposium/slowposium once or twice already but it is kind of a big deal. We will explore all facets of the experience of people working in tertiary education third space which sits between and across academic and professional domains. Registration for the 2 week online slowposium (free) (Nov 15-30) and also for the in-person symposium (Dec 1, UniMelb) ($56 - includes morning/afternoon tea, lunch and much community) is now open. Places for the symposium are limited. Submissions to share/present in both events also close shortly - September 1st.
