New journal - who dis? Submissions close SOON for the Third Space Symposium
Designing AI Learning Agents webinar - 29 August @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST from TELedvisors Network
Registrations for this webinar are going like hot cakes - and for good reason. (If you end up on the waiting list, you will still be emailed a link to the recording) Platforms like Cogniti and ChatGPT offer an exciting new way to design interactive and personalised learning experiences using plain language text instructions – or ‘prompts’. It’s still early days, so what do we know so far about how best to design and deploy these learning experiences?
Join us for the August TELedvisors webinar, which will showcase four different pioneering examples of generative AI-powered learning experiences in Cogniti, ChatGPT and MS Copilot. Joanne Hinitt (USyd), Matthew Clemson (USyd), Michael McAuley (ECU), and Antony Tibbs (ECU) will share tips and tricks for writing effective prompts and using them with learners. The webinar will provide examples, practical tips and advice to help you design your own engaging learning experiences using generative AI prompts.
Vol. 1 No. 1 (2024): Inaugural Issue of JODDE - Journal of Open, Distance and Digital Education (Open Access)
It’s always great to see new publications in this space. This one tickles my personal interests in the bigger picture of the TEL landscape with articles including University leadership in the digital age: challenges, opportunities and critical actions; Digital policy for Equity and Openness; Youth perspectives on three speculative futures for higher education; and Exploring gaps in the quality assurance of micro-credentials: a global mapping review of current practices.
Jonathan Grant and Tom Kennie consider the research/professional intersection of the higher ed third space in this thoughtful blog post from the UK based Higher Education Policy Institute. They highlight the need for new thinking about career paths for the growing number of staff who do not neatly sit in the academic/professional dichotomy.
Submissions close 31st August Third Space Symposium from TELedvisors Network
Speaking of the third space (so smooth Colin, so so smooth) - proposal submissions close on the weekend to be part of the inaugural Third Space Symposium later this year. If you have something to share - or would just like to start a discussion about a topic of interest - relating to experiences of working in the tertiary education third space, we want to hear from you.
